An oversized graphic tee is one of the easiest pieces to wear badly and one of the most rewarding to wear well. Get the fit and the layering right and it does most of the work for you — it reads relaxed without looking sloppy, and it lets the print carry the outfit.
Here are five ways we actually wear ours, plus how to choose the right size and keep the print alive past the first few washes.
Why oversized works (when the fit is right)
The difference between "deliberately oversized" and "borrowed from someone larger" comes down to two things: shoulder placement and length. A good oversized tee still sits on your shoulders — the seam drops a little, but it does not slide past them. The hem should land between mid-fly and the top of your thigh. Any longer and it starts to shorten your legs.
1. The everyday fit
Tee over straight-leg jeans or wide chinos, finished with chunky trainers. Keep the bottom half clean and let the graphic be the only loud thing in the outfit. This is the version you will wear three times a week.
Try it with the After The Storm Washed T-Shirt — the washed grey base works with denim, black or olive.
2. Layer it open
Wear the tee as the base and throw an open overshirt, flannel or unbuttoned jacket over the top. The graphic stays visible through the centre, and the layers add structure without losing the relaxed feel. This is the easiest way to make an oversized tee look considered rather than thrown on.
3. Dress it up slightly
An oversized tee under a relaxed blazer or a long wool coat is one of the strongest looks in UK streetwear. The contrast between tailored lines and a loose printed tee is the whole point. Stick to monochrome prints for this one — they hold their own against a structured outer layer.
4. Autumn layering
Once the temperature drops, the tee becomes a base layer and the hoodie or crewneck takes over. Wear a plain crewneck over a printed tee with the collar and hem showing — two textures and a bit of graphic without shouting.
5. Keep it simple for going out
Black oversized tee, black trousers, one piece of jewellery. No print competing with anything else. When the graphic is strong, the rest of the outfit should get out of the way.
How to pick your size
Our tees are cut oversized, so most people should take their normal size rather than sizing up — sizing up on an already-oversized tee usually pushes it into too-big territory. If you are between sizes and want a closer fit, go down one. Measurements are listed on each product page in the T-shirt range.

Making the print last
Heat is what kills a print, not time. Three rules:
- Wash cold — 30°C or lower
- Turn it inside out before it goes in the machine
- Never tumble dry, and never iron directly over the graphic
Do that and a good print will outlast the fabric it is on.
